Smart SummaryPowered by Roshi
Join Schneider Electric as a UX/UI Designer to connect with customers and understand their needs, map customer journeys, manage research, apply design thinking, collaborate with a global team, create frameworks, deliver high-quality products, and present to leadership. Take the lead in designing products and pushing boundaries to improve the customer experience.

 Responsibilities

  • Connect with customers to deeply understand their true needs and top pain-points. Map out customer journeys and experiences for key scenarios.
  •  Manage and execute end-to-end research: define research objectives, develop research proposal, data collection, analysis, reporting, and dissemination
  • Be well-versed in both generative and evaluative qualitative research methodologies
  • Translate findings into action plans to quickly improve the customer experience
  • Apply design thinking skills on a variety of products (i.e.: devices with embedded displays, or enterprise-level web-based software), keeping a keen eye on opportunities to step in and step up.
  • Collaborate with a global team to design products that you feel proud about.
  • Create frameworks, conceptual diagrams, user flows, wireframes, detailed visual mockups, and prototypes to communicate high-level design strategies, while also diving deep with product and engineering to implement your vision.
  •  Deliver high quality creative products while insisting on high standards and attention to detail.
  • Present to business, design, and executive-level leadership, and support your design rationale using quantitative data and site metrics, customer feedback, and usability findings.
  • Work with business and technical stakeholders to visualize longer-term project visions and define shorter-term scope requirements.
  • Respectfully decline the status quo and push both colleagues and stakeholders outside their comfort zones.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • 3 years of product design experience in an intermediate or senior role.
  • Fluent of UI/UX principles, best practices, and common design tools (Sketch/Figma).
  • Strong in the 'Architect' aspect of UX (Interaction design, Information Architecture, Content Strategy, User Research, Business Objectives) and not just the 'Decorator' aspect of UX (Visual Design, User Interface Design)
  • A portfolio that reflects your strengths in both UX and visual design skills.
  • A natural inclination to take the lead and help everyone arrive at a deeper understanding and greater appreciation of the work.
  • Fluent in translating stakeholder goals, user research, and complex user flows into simple UIs.
  • Engaged with current and upcoming desktop and mobile best practices, developments, and trends in web and mobile design.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver compelling design rationales in both customer and internal contexts.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity from customers and stakeholders that lead to more questions than answers.
  • Motivated by feedback, and by the opportunity to improve in your role, in the work, and in how you work together as a team.
  • Strong understanding with accessibility and inclusive design.
