Overview

Lighthouse, KPMG’s Big Data, AI & Analytics practice has deep industry specialization and focuses on solution delivery for Data Engineering, Data Science, Data Visualization, and Process Analytics. We are looking for entrepreneurial leaders to drive growth and build strategic relationships.

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Data Scientist to join our team. As a data scientist for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex data sets to derive insights and create actionable recommendations for business decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Exposure to tech stack including R (with Shiny), Python (including OOP ability to write modular coding), Plotly, GIT, TensorFlow 
• Highly Skilled in Python and NLP.
• Strong mathematical acumen and experience in Algorithms and Optimization techniques (linear, integer and nonlinear programming.
• Experience is solving business problems using statistics and ML – EDA, Predictive Modeling, Deep learning/Neural networks, Normalization techniques.
• Experienced in general linear modelling, multivariate analysis, statistical modelling, and preferred additional knowledge of time series modelling (AR, MA, ARMA, ARIMA at the minimum) 
• Data analysis skills to convert business requirements to algorithmic specifications combined with strong technical documentation. 
• Firm grasp and demonstratable experience on the principles of the model development lifecycle and producing machine learning models that stand up to statistical rigor. 
• Experience in developing, deploying, and monitoring models using machine learning for predictive modelling in a business/industry environment, i.e., feature engineering, model creation and evaluation.
• Exposure to Generative AI or large Language Models (LLMs) on cloud or On-prem is highly desirable.

• A practical common-sense approach to problem solving and diligence. 
• Documenting and explaining the results of analysis or modelling to both a technical and non-technical audience,
• Effective communication skills, especially explaining technical concepts to business users and clarifying requirements.
• Experience working in small, empowered, delivery focused, cross-functional and collaborating teams.
• Comfortable working on projects with tight deadlines with the ability to provide realistic estimates of how long tasks will take. and the confidence to escalate early if scope changes or unexpected challenges will affect agreed timelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors or Masters in any of the following: Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, Data Science, or similar discipline with at least 4+ years of experience on data science projects
