The Specialty Rental Division is connecting its global Rental Fleet to improve safety, reliability, and productivity for customers who depend on its rental solutions. To further strengthen this initiative, we are looking for a Diagnostics Engineer – Chillers.

You will join an existing team of uptime center experts at the Global Diagnostic Center, where you will align your technical expertise with Industry 4.0 and data-driven services.

As a Diagnostics Engineer, your mission is to empower rental teams to maintain the highest level of reliability so we can deliver on our 24/7 machine uptime promise. Atlas Copco captures real-time information about the technical condition of its rental fleet installed at customer sites. By combining IoT data with your understanding of chiller systems, you will remotely detect issues and advise technicians close to the customer.

You will be responsible for studying machine behaviour remotely and delivering the right insights to technical colleagues across the globe.

Your Role 

  • Remote Monitoring & Diagnostics - Analyse operational and performance data to identify anomalies, predict failures, and optimize efficiency in industrial chillers.
  • Technical Support - Provide advanced remote troubleshooting guidance to field technicians at customer sites.
  • **Data-Driven Insights-**Utilize IoT data, alarms, trend analysis, and performance metrics to deliver actionable recommendations
  • **Cross-Equipment Collaboration-**Work closely with diagnostics engineers specializing in boilers, engines, compressors, Pumps and generators to ensure integrated troubleshooting and aligned support strategies.
  • Continuous Improvement- Contribute feedback on system behaviour, improve diagnostic logic, and support preventive and predictive maintenance strategies across the rental fleet.
  • **Safety & Compliance-**Ensure all diagnostic advice and recommendations comply with safety standards, operational procedures, and environmental regulations

 Experience requirements

 Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Thermal Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of field experience in industrial Chiller installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance

Knowledge ans Skils

  • Strong expertise in chiller operation, performance optimization, and fault diagnosis.
  • Hands-on experience with chiller control systems, alarms, and performance monitoring
  • Solid understanding of refrigeration cycles, heat transfer principles, and capacity control.
  • Knowledge of electrical panels, VFDs, sensors, and control logic used in chiller systems.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, trend graphs, and fault logs.
  • Familiarity with water quality, chilled water treatment, and their impact on system performance.
  • Capability to analyze data trends and correlate mechanical, electrical, and control parameters.
  • Proficiency in English (written & spoken) for effective global collaboration.
