About This Role

 We are seeking a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer to build and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS), with a focus on Kubernetes (EKS) and GitOps practices, along with the supporting tooling across our engineering teams. This role ensures security, scalability, and maintainability of our cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will enable development teams to deliver high-quality software through cloud-native solutions and automation. This role requires a strong ownership mindset — you will take full ownership of the systems you manage, proactively identifying and driving improvements. Strong collaboration and communication within the team is essential — you will work closely with your peers to align on technical decisions, share knowledge, and deliver as a team.

What You Will Own

- **Cloud Infrastructure & AWS:** Build, deploy, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure — including serverless components — with a focus on security, scalability, and maintainability; proactively identify improvement opportunities and establish guardrails that enable engineering teams to deliver infrastructure consistently and safely.

- **Kubernetes Platform (EKS):** Manage EKS cluster provisioning via Crossplane, lifecycle management, and day-2 operations including autoscaling, add-on management, and upgrade strategies; establish operational standards for cluster reliability across multiple environments.

- **GitOps & Continuous Delivery:** Maintain the GitOps operating model using Argo CD as the delivery platform; define multi-environment promotion strategies and deployment guardrails; build and maintain CI pipelines using GitHub Actions for building, linting, testing, and DevSecOps integration.

- **Infrastructure as Code:** Contribute to the Crossplane strategy including composition design, XRD development, and multi-environment patterns; enable distributed teams to self-serve infrastructure safely and consistently.

- **Observability & Reliability:** Manage monitoring and alerting infrastructure using Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki; establish dashboards, alerting standards, and operational runbooks that improve platform reliability.

- **Developer Experience & Enablement:** Build and maintain developer tooling, self-service capabilities, and automation that accelerate software delivery; treat developer experience as a product with measurable outcomes.

- **Technology Evaluation:** Proactively evaluate emerging platform technologies across the CNCF landscape to keep the platform strategy forward-looking.

Ideal Candidate Will Have

- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or platform engineering roles

- Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes clusters in production environments (must have)

- Strong AWS expertise including networking, IAM, and the EKS ecosystem (must have)

- Experience with Infrastructure as Code fundamentals (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)

- Strong CI fundamentals using GitHub Actions, including building, linting, testing, and DevSecOps integration

- Experience with GitOps workflows using Argo CD for continuous delivery

- Proficiency with monitoring and observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki

- Strong Linux and distributed systems troubleshooting skills across Kubernetes, networking, and AWS

- Experience with Helm/Kustomize and Kubernetes networking fundamentals

- Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively across engineering teams

- Ability to produce clear documentation including runbooks, and self-service guides

- Understanding of database fundamentals including relational concepts

- Background in Computer & Network Security or Computer Networking

- Willingness to triage and resolve platform support tickets during business hours

Highly Desired

- Kubernetes certifications (CKA/CKAD/CKS) and/or AWS Solutions Architect Professional / DevOps Engineer Professional / Cloud Practitioner

- Experience with Karpenter cost optimization, EKS Auto Mode, vCluster, and Crossplane

Minimum Qualifications:

•    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

• 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
