About the assignment

As a Senior Scientist you will be a key member of a highly motivated team, working closely with departments focused on Target Translational Science, Bioscience in vitro assays, and Drug Metabolism/Pharmacokinetics. The role is partly lab-based, with responsibility for planning, performing, and evaluating histological analyses, as well as driving the establishment of new techniques.

You will characterize and validate target expression and evaluate drug-target engagement in both patient and in vivo tissue samples, independently assess and report data, and present findings in cross-functional project meetings.

What we are looking for

REQUIRED

  • PhD in a relevant discipline (Bioscience, Respiratory, or related field)

  • Strong hands-on histology skills: immunohistochemistry, histochemistry, in situ hybridization including RNAscope

  • Experience with automated staining platforms (e.g. Ventana Discovery Ultra, Leica Bond)

  • Proficiency in image analysis platforms (e.g. Visiopharm, Halo)

  • Solid understanding of statistical methods, quality control, and data reporting

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

DESIRABLE

  • Knowledge of respiratory diseases such as asthma, COPD, or IPF

  • Experience in histology scoring and histomorphometry

  • Familiarity with deep learning image analysis, e.g. image segmentation and classification

  • Knowledge of advanced histological techniques: spatial transcriptomics, multiplex staining, tissue optical clearing

  • Scripting experience in Python or R

  • Background in pharmacology, physiology, or immunology
