Intern, Associate Software Engineer

Your impact

The ideal candidate for this role will be working member of an engineering team delivering quality technical solutions. The candidate will be responsible for design, develop, test, automate and deliver features that enable and enhance the user experience of Intelsat Airborne Broadband System. This role requires solid understanding of the design and development process, using CI / CD technologies.

What you will do

  • Primarily responsible for the Airborne System Software design and development.
  • Work with the Architects/ Technical lead / Product Owner to understand user requirements, convert BDD scenarios or user stories into product functionality.
  • Work with the team members collectively to own and deliver features and flexible to take up any type of tasks like develop, automate and test to complete feature.
  • Perform engineering quality checks clearly and consistently.

Your required experience/skills

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering or related technology – advanced degree preferred
  • Good development experience with Java / C++ / Go / Java / ReactJS
  • Good knowledge on OOPs and Data structures
  • Knowledge of IP networking protocols and technologies
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize work, coordinate with onsite stakeholders and well organized.
  • Flexibility in working with technologies and platforms.
  • A commitment to excellence, best practices, and the continuous improvement of our products, code base, processes, and tools. 
  • Knowledge of using Artificial Intelligence to solve use cases in React JS based web applications or Java sprint boot microservices.

It would be nice if you had: 

  • Polyglot programming experience is preferred.
  • Virtualization, containerization (VirtualBox, Docker, KVM), Microservice architecture and event-driven system design knowledge would be a big plus.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Test Automation methodology Knowledge in CI/CD and AWS deployments (EC2, Lambda, S3, MySQL) is a plus.
