You'll collaborate with internal teams and potentially directly with merchants to optimize payment strategies and drive growth.

In this role, your analytical prowess will directly influence the strategic direction of PayPal's most important merchant relationships. You'll have the opportunity to uncover data-driven insights that optimize payment performance, drive revenue growth, and shape the future of our products. Your work will directly contribute in enhancing the success of our merchants.

 

Your day to day

In your day-to-day, you will:

  • Collaboratively Uncover Insights: Partner with your team to design and execute in-depth analyses using SQL and Python, extracting valuable insights from large datasets within BigQuery.
  • Transform Data into Compelling Stories: Independently leverage your expertise in Tableau or Looker to create visualizations and presentations that translate complex data findings into actionable recommendations for merchants and internal teams.
  • Drive Strategic Decisions: Collaborate with cross-functional partners to present your findings, influence product roadmaps, and shape the overall strategic direction of PayPal's merchant relationships.
  • Become a Merchant Advocate: Build relationships with merchant partners, understanding their unique needs and challenges to provide tailored recommendations based on your data-driven insights.
  • Explore New Possibilities: Stay curious and proactive, exploring new tools and techniques to enhance your analysis capabilities and contribute to the team's innovation efforts.

 

Tech Stack: You'll be working primarily with SQL, Python, BigQuery, and data visualization tools like Tableau or Looker. You'll also have the opportunity to explore and utilize other cutting-edge technologies as needed to meet the team's evolving analytical needs.

What do you need to bring-

  • Analytical Acumen: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, etc.) or equivalent work experience showcasing your analytical skills.
  • SQL Expertise: Proven proficiency in SQL, with a strong ability to extract and manipulate large datasets using tools like BigQuery.
  • Python Proficiency: Demonstrated experience using Python for data analysis, statistical modeling, and seamless integration with SQL workflows.
  • Data Storytelling: Demonstrated experience using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker) to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Problem-Solving Passion: A natural curiosity and a drive to identify and solve problems, coupled with a knack for turning data into strategic recommendations.
  • Communication Prowess: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling you to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and present findings to stakeholders at all levels.
