Overview: We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with a background in data science to join our Digital PMO team. As a leading construction and project management company, we are driving digital transformation initiatives to optimize our operations. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the development of the data architecture, creating a Data Warehouse, and establishing a common data environment (CDE) for reporting and analysis. Your expertise in data science, strong SQL skills, and ability to work with various stakeholders will enable seamless data integration and visualization for BI developers.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Digital PMO team and stakeholders to define data requirements and roadmap for data engineering initiatives. Design and develop a scalable and robust architecture for the Data Warehouse, ensuring efficient data modeling, storage, and retrieval. Setup, configure, and manage SQL servers, including performance optimization and troubleshooting. Perform data mapping and analysis to understand data structures, ensuring effective organization and integration of data from diverse sources and apps. Develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) workflows to extract, transform, and load data into the common data environment. Implement data quality control processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across different datasets. Work closely with stakeholders to gather data requirements, define data integration workflows, and ensure data governance and security standards. Collaborate with BI developers to provide data connectivity and accessibility through visualization tools like BI. Engage in continuous learning to stay updated with emerging technologies and trends in data engineering, data science, and related fields. Proactively identify data engineering challenges and propose innovative solutions to optimize data processes and improve efficiency.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer, with a strong background in data science. Proficiency in SQL and experience in setting up, configuring, and optimizing SQL servers. Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and design principles. Experience in data integration from diverse sources, APIs, and databases. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and propose effective data engineering solutions. Familiarity with ETL tools and processes, such as SSIS, Alteryx, Informatica, or similar technologies. Knowledge of data quality control processes and data governance best practices. Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills to effectively work with stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Self-learner and self-starter with a proactive attitude towards problem-solving and staying updated with industry trends and practices.
