Group Data Office is the Group Central Data and Analytics arm that works closely with the Group Businesses and Group Corporate functions to enable the execution Strategy through Robust Data Standards & Governance, Actionable Performance Metrics & MIS, and High Impact Information and Analytics Products and Solution

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Unix scripts to automate system tasks and processes.
  • Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL scripts to retrieve, manipulate, and analyze data.
  • Collaborate with the development team to understand data requirements and develop scripts accordingly.
  • Work with database administrators to identify and resolve performance issues in SQL scripts.
  • Troubleshoot and debug Unix scripts and SQL scripts to ensure smooth operation and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance, identify areas for improvement, and propose solutions.
  • Ensure data integrity and security by following best practices for Unix and SQL scripting.
  • Document Unix scripts and SQL scripts for future reference and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay updated with the latest technologies, trends, and developments in Unix and SQL scripting.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed..

 

 Qualifications we seek in you!

 

Minimum Qualifications

·         Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

·         Proven experience as a Unix, SQL Script Developer or a similar role.

·         Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems and shell scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Korn).

·         Proficient in writing complex SQL scripts for Oracle, MySQL, or other relational databases.

·         Familiarity with database management systems and database design principles.

·         Experience in performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries.

·         Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

·         Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·         Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work

 

 

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

1.         Experience with other scripting languages, such as Python or Perl.

2.         Knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools.

3.         Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and technologies.

4.         Experience with version control systems, such as Git.

5.         Certification in Unix or SQL scripting is a plus
