Job description 

As a Software Developer in Testing, Performance you will be working collaboratively with a large-scale team and do performance testing of the Monotype Fonts Web and Desktop applications. You will be responsible for providing detailed performance reports, improvement areas and debugging around performance issues. You will be monitoring our production system's performance and reporting issues in a proactive manner.  

 

 What we’re looking for:  

4+ years of experience in Web, Mobile, Desktop Application Accessibility testing covering platforms such as Windows, MacOS, Android, iOS. 

Well versed in latest WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines)  standards (2.0/2.1). 

Experience in applying these standards to web and mobile applications. 

Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies is crucial for identifying accessibility issues and suggesting solutions. 

Proficiency in using screen readers (e.g.JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver), magnifiers, speech recognition software, Special keyboard, Screen Magnification Software and other assistive technologies used by people with disabilities. 

Ability to empathize with users with disabilities and advocate for their needs throughout the development process. 

Keen eye for detail to identify subtle accessibility issues that may impact users with disabilities. 

Ability to analyse complex web and mobile applications to identify potential accessibility barriers and provide actionable recommendations for improvement. 

Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate accessibility issues and collaborate with developers, designers, and stakeholders. 

Hands Knowledge of accessibility testing methodologies, including manual testing, automated testing tools (such as Axe, Wave, and Lighthouse), Color contrast analyzer and user testing with people with disabilities. 

Involved in activities such as Accessibility Assessment & Audits, Accessibility Test Strategy & approach definition, Accessibility Assessment defect & summary report, Accessibility training for design, dev and test engineers. 

Hands-on experience in any programming language like Java, JavaScript, Python etc. 

Hands experience on functional automation tools like Selenium is plus 

Strong problem-solving skills to address accessibility challenges in creative and efficient ways. 

Willingness to stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in digital accessibility. 

Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment, including developers, designers, product managers, and quality assurance testers. 

Capability to document accessibility issues, test results, and recommendations effectively for developers and other stakeholders.
