Overview

Cigna International Health is initiating a project to modernise its portal and self-service application to bolster the expansion of our health businesses across the globe. We’re actively seeking individuals that want to start their career in championing our vision and steer us towards building digital platforms for serving Cigna’s customers all over the world.

We are seeking an entry level Software Engineer to join our software development efforts in creating high-quality, scalable APIs and microservices. The ideal candidate will work the existing team to build technical solutions, produce clean code, and ensure successful delivery of software solutions aligned with business goals.

 

Responsibilities

  • Project Delivery:
    • Execute software projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
    • Develop solutions using TDD methodology.
    • Execute project plans and application designs to ensure projects are aligned with standards and IT strategy.
  • Development: Follow the design principles, and development processes to ensure scalable, secure, and efficient solutions, collaborating with other senior leads.
  • Operational Efficiency: Use DevSecOps to streamline processes, tools, and workflows to optimize engineering operations and enhance productivity.

 

Requirements

  • Strong programming skills and understanding of data structures and algorithms.
  • One of programming languages: Python / NodeJS / JVM (Java, Spring Boot, Kotlin) / .NET
  • Awareness of software design principles and OSI model of layer software architecture.
  • Awareness of SQL, database concepts, key-value stores and HTTP protocol.
  • Good communication, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work as a team but brave enough to express the thoughts and ideas.

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

The Position: Reporting to the  QA Test Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for on time delivery of test planning and executions activities in the delivery of Quality Assurance (QA) Testing for new or modified applications/systems across multiple platforms.  The QA & Testing Associate Analyst will be a high-performing individual who is methodical, inquisitive and has a passion for quality.  They will partner with their Test Lead, QA Lead and business colleagues on a journey of continuous learning and improvement to ensure ongoing optimisation of quality first delivery capability in support of key strategic outcomes for our business.   They will receive the opportunity to learn and develop in the Healthcare industry within the technology team.  This is a fantastic opportunity for either a graduate or someone with less than 2 years Testing experience.   Working across our IM IT Team to deliver successful QA & Testing solutions enabling all methodologies but with a focus on SAFe Agile.  You will work with individuals from across the world, with both in-person and remote teams.   Main Duties / Responsibilities: Responsible for providing additional support or backfill Product understanding and creating test design Execute test cases and report bugs on the tool Participate in defect triage and RCA Participate in PI & Sprint planning and Agile ceremonies Contribute towards Sprint retrospective and continuous improvement initiatives Implement test techniques , methodologies and tools to achieve high-level of test coverage Support Test Leads/QA Leads with QA & Test responsibilities   Required Skills and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and at least two, typically five or more years’ experience in a system quality environment, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience Up to 2 Yrs. experience in Software QA & Testing Experience or understanding of functional testing of web application, desktop application and mainframe application Experience of working in all phase of Test Cycle (Test Design, Test Execution, Defect management & reporting) Knowledge of the Health Insurance Industry Understanding of the Software Delivery Lifecycle with specific expertise of Software Testing Proven experience of working within an Agile environment Good knowledge of different web browsers like Internet Explorer, Firefox, MS Edge, Chrome Competent user of Microsoft office applications like Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Comfortable working independently, leading a team or as part of a team Demonstrate accuracy and possess a keen eye for detail Strong interest in personal development Desirable Skills and Experience Finance business knowledge ISTQB Foundation or Intermediate Certified Knowledge of relational databases using SQL queries Web based software development, especially using Java and HTML Salesforce & Vlocity Technology experience JIRA, HP ALM, Azure Dev Ops – Test Plans React software awareness, experience Mobile App, Mobile Browser Testing Experience Browserstack, Perfecto experience Mainframe, DB & API testing Selenium/UFT skills
