About the role:

To maintain ground-breaking propositions for our product documentation and support the next wave of innovation in content strategy, we are looking for a technical writer with knowledge of information development and passionate about creating documentation to achieve the highest standards of content maturity.

As a Technical writer, you will be creating content, peer reviewing and publishing documentation on our online portal. You will part of documentation squad while working closely with the Scrum master, Subject matter experts, Product Managers, and Product Owners to deliver effective information development and release specific updates.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize research, plan, analyze, and authors high quality technical documentation
  • Author topics using minimalism principles and conforming to corporate writing style guide
  • Analyze current product documentation to determine usability and make improvements as indicated
  • Learn and adapt quickly to new technologies, tools, and processes in a fast-paced agile environment
  • Improve content quality and usability by responding to and incorporating feedback from customers and internal users
  • Work effectively with cross functional teams to deliver the best solutions to our customer
  • Demonstrate a sense of ownership in work and deliverables

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Overall 4+ years of experience including at least 2+ years in technical writing for sophisticated documentation projects. Experience working in Software Product technical documentation is beneficial.
  • University degree in English, Technical Communication, Information Management, or related field in Engineering or Computer Science (or comparable education/equivalent experience)
  • Working knowledge of developing user guides, release notes, installation guides, etc. and topic-based writing is beneficial
  • Ability to obtain information through research, interviews, and experimentation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in international languages like Simplified Chinese or Japanese is a plus
  • Experience with persona-based writing, preferred
  • Advanced skills in using XML based authoring tools, DITA standard experience preferred
  • Capability to understand and speak software engineers' language and understand the wider context of their work
  • Personal demeanor encompassing proactivity, ownership and continuous improvement.

What will you do?          Research and write hardware and software documentation for analytical instruments, such as liquid, gas, or ion chromatographs and mass spectrometers. Experience in writing hardware installation, maintenance instructions, troubleshooting, or training materials. This may include standard operating procedures, as well as manuals or help systems. Experience with analytical instruments will be considered an advantage. Familiarity with Darwin Information Type Architecture (DITA)-based CCMS and authoring tools. Knowledge of DITA, content analysis, metadata/taxonomy structuring will be good to have. Experience with screen-capture software and video production tools such as Captivate, Storyline, Camtasia, or Final Cut Pro. Flexible and proactive, with the ability to work in an environment of constant change. Must be able to collaborate with scientists, fellow writers, project managers, and program managers. managers. Strong communication skills and excellent English writing abilities. Shortlisted candidates will be required to provide writing samples and take a test on camera or at our office. Must be highly organized and pay attention to detail.
