Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Payments and Cards Industry Banking Consultant with expertise in Indian Banking and a deep understanding of core banking, payments, and cards modules, your role is pivotal in providing strategic guidance, advisory services to our banking clients and responsible for application support and leading the payments and cards tower with technical expertise. You will collaborate with financial institutions to optimize their payment and cards solutions, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

 

  • Manage the Payments and Cards Banking Tower for Application Support Services for an Indian Bank.
  • Handle all Client communication and Escalations for this tower.
  • Problem analysis and validation of classification.
  • Work effectively with your team to troubleshoot and restore applications that are in the payments and cards module.
  • Set up Support services and ensure SLAs and KPIs are met.
  • Collaborate to resolve issues across client Application / Infra etc. Team, IBM Team and 3rd Party.
  • Effective handling of Critical Situation in relation to Sev 1/ Severity 2 and Critical Severity 3 issues.
  • Work towards making the applications more efficient by implementing right monitoring services, automation and items of next gen AMS and build further business and ensure account profitability.
  • Advises clients regarding products and solutions for solving problems in the Banking Industry for payments and Cards. Specialist is knowledgeable in the trends and directions of the industry, the marketplace, and the players. Specialized in broad knowledge of the banking industry and deep knowledge of clients’ businesses and how it relates to specific banking segments.
  • Collaborate with senior management to define the strategic direction for the payments and cards tower, aligning it with the overall business goals of the bank.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and growth within the payments and cards domain.
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in payments and cards solutions, including understanding the intricacies of payment processing, card issuance, and digital payment technologies.
  • Guide the development and implementation of payment and card-related IT solutions, ensuring they meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead technical teams, offering guidance and mentorship to ensure the successful execution of incident fix.
  • Oversee the application support function within the payments and cards tower, ensuring that applications are maintained, updated, and operating smoothly.
  • Develop and implement robust incident management processes for timely issue resolution.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and coordinate with IT teams to implement fixes and enhancements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement preventive measures.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with clients to assess their payment and cards needs, objectives, and challenges.
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations on optimizing payments, and cards modules to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.
  • Develop and implement strategies for card product development, payment processing, and digital banking solutions.
  • Analyze market trends, competition, and regulatory changes to help clients stay competitive and compliant.
  • Conduct workshops, training sessions, and knowledge transfer activities for banking teams to enhance their expertise in payment and cards solutions.
  • Lead and support the application support team under payments and cards module to fix the incidents and ensuring successful delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Provide guidance on risk management, fraud prevention, and security measures within the payments and cards domain.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, compliance, and legal, to ensure alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the Payments and Cards Tower and ensure effective communication with the client

  • Ensure Productivity in your Tower through Automation and Next Gen AMS techniques.
  • Generate Further Business through CRs.
  • Provide L1/L2/L3 support for payment applications- (UPI) – EPH + MGS switch, AePS – EPH switch, SFMS platform – RTGS + NEFT, RTGS + NEFT – EPH platform, IMPS – EPH platform, (NACH)- EPH platform, CBDC, etc.
  • Effective handling of Critical Situation in relation to Sev 1/ Severity 2 and Critical Severity 3 issues. Resolve Sev 1/ Severity 2 and Critical Severity 3 issues within SLAs.
  • Change the application code to fix issues permanently.
  • Maintain Known error Database (KEDB) for future reference.
  • Automate processes to increase productivity.
  • Stabilize the application by providing permanent fixes and foresee defects to avoid tickets.
  • Lead a team of > 20(more than 20).
  • Interaction and managing client in critical situations.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Strong skills in Core Java, J2EE, Spring, Web technologies ( HTML, CSS, React, JavaScript, REST JSON etc).
  • Understanding of web technology stack JSF, jQuery, JavaScript, HTML5/CSS3.
  • Experience working with databases MYSQL and Oracle.

  • Exposure on Instant payments, ISO20022 and PSD2 would be an added advantage.
