About the role

As a Software test lead, you will play a key role in a high responsibility ADAS development project, where new technology solutions are being developed from MBRDI, for all Mercedes Benz passenger cars globally. You will be responsible for:

1.     Leading the test activities in the project, and ensuring release of a high quality software to production

2.     Manage a team of skilled test engineers - develop test strategy, create a test plan, and ensure that test activities are executed as per the plan

3.     Work with developers to build and deploy new test tools and frameworks, towards the goal of achieving 100% SW requirement coverage through automation, for a Level 3 ADAS software.

The role requires active coordination with software function developers, SW-PM, SW Integration and SW test team.

Key job responsibilities Test Strategy and Planning:

1.     Develop and refine comprehensive test strategy and test plans for the project

2.     Collaborate with SW-PM and stakeholders to define testing objectives, scope, and schedules.

3.     Identify test resources and allocate them appropriately.

Team Management:

1.     Lead a team of test engineers.

2.     Foster a culture of collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement within the testing team.

3.     Provide guidance, coaching, and support to team members.

Test Execution:

1.     Oversee the execution of test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios. Work with CICD team to troubleshoot test automation failures and resolve them.

2.     Monitor test progress, report on testing status.

3.     Ensure that testing activities are aligned with project requirements.

Test Documentation:

1.     Create and maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test cases, test scripts, and test reports.

2.     Review and verify that test documentation is complete and accurate.

Quality Assurance:

1.     Enforce quality assurance and testing standards, and update them when necessary.

2.     Implement best practices to ensure high-quality testing processes.

3.     Participate in reviews and inspections of test deliverables.

Risk Management:

1.     Identify and assess project risks related to testing.

2.     Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.

3.     Communicate risks and their potential impact to project stakeholders.

Basic Qualification

Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Electrical & Electronics/Information Technology

Skill Requirements

1.     Proven experience in software testing and test management for embedded systems in Automotive/Avionics/Transportation domain.

2.     Good understanding of end to end software development life cycle, including Devops, CI-CD pipelines and tools, software development processes.

3.     Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

4.     Knowledge of testing tools and methodologies. ISTQB certification is preferred.

Additional Skills (nice to have):

1.     Prior experience as a software developer

2.     Basic knowledge on German language

3.     Knowledge of ISO 26262 and  ISO/TS16949

4.     PMP certification

5.     Knowledge, experience working with ADAS systems, exposure to appropriate Regulations and Standards for different markets

Qualifications

BE/BTech in ECE/EEE/CS or equivalent
