THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Xactly Corporation, you’ll have the opportunity to work on challenging Cloud Infrastructure projects. You’ll need to have a passion for wanting to take a software-based approach to solving infrastructure challenges and automate those solutions in this role. A strong understanding of Linux, writing scripts/code in at least two languages, public clouds, troubleshooting are key for success in this role. And finally, you should have a strong background in
implementing production SaaS environments and be comfortable and able to scope, plan and define architecture design requirements, driving implementation, performance tuning, maintenance, and security.

THE TEAM
Xactly’s Infrastructure Operations team is a rapidly growing & diversified team with a focus on working with cutting-edge tools & technologies. We are a strong team of 30+ members spread across our engineering centers in San Jose, Denver, Toronto, and Bangalore.  All members of the team are encouraged to operate independently and with highest levels of accountability, while also being willing to work collaboratively in training, learning, and developing of new skills. The Cloud Infrastructure team provides 24x7x365 system availability, conducting regular maintenance, release and upkeep for the infrastructure and service. Project based work which has companywide visibility and positive impact on the business is also a big part of the work that Cloud Infrastructure tackles.

What you’ll do

• Design and build infrastructure systems and architecture using (including but not limited to) Terraform, Helm, and Kubernetes
• Maintain and operate systems running on a variety of Cloud IaaS solutions and services.
• Establish and enforce best practices around security, scalability, and reliability within both your team and software development teams
• Drive the implementation of various infrastructure projects related to department initiatives.
• Architect fault-tolerant and low latency solutions for geographically dispersed users
• Maintain and evolve monitoring and notification systems.
• Engage in the diagnosis and resolution of escalated critical incidents.
• Create and sustain documentation on new services, procedures, and requirements.
• Participate in an on-call schedule established by your manager and be immediately available while on-call to diagnose and resolve incidents.
• Participate in security and compliance audits of systems infrastructure.

 
What you’ll need

• 5 to 8yrs of relevant experience as a Devops Engineer
• Demonstrated experience working with Terraform for 3+ years
• Experience operating and maintaining Kubernetes environments for 3+ years
• Extensive experience in architecting, implementing, and supporting solutions on Cloud Solutions ( AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud)
• Linux system administration skills, 3-5 years operations experience
• Experience with monitoring and metrics systems.
• Practical experience with infrastructure automation tools (i.e., Terraform, Packer, Chef)
• Exceptional time and project management skills and an attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and robust analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice to have

• Familiarity with content delivery networks
• Strong scripting skills (i.e. Groovy, Python, Bash)
