Job summary

As a Solutions Engineer (SE) in NetApp's Sales function, you are responsible for technical selling of NetApp's Products & Services to existing and potential customers. You will utilize your technical and relationship building skills in working with vendors, partner ecosystems and your sales team to ensure that optimum solutions are proposed to the customers.

The Solutions Engineer is required to have a deep understanding of end-to-end customer operations and work as a consultant to customers in identifying key business challenges and position the right technology solutions and data management solution/service to address those business challenges. The Solutions Engineer shall also work on long-term strategies to improve customer business operations through data management tools and services delivering continuous value to customers business. The SE is also required to work closely with various alliance partners and provide best of breed joint solutions to the customers.

Job requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Data Storage, Data Protection, Virtualization, Containers and Cloud architectures (primarily IaaS).
  • Infrastructure play in Ransomware protection (cyber resiliency), AI/ ML and App modernisation projects.
  • Knowledge of local customer base and partner organisations is highly desired.
  • Strong expertise in Technical Pre-Sales, with the ability to do hands-on POCs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including making techno commercial presentations.
  • Technical Account management and project management skills.
  • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and understanding how to utilize them in a customer facing environment.
  • Demonstrate ownership of issues / solutions / architectures in customer or partner environments and work with extended team to help resolve for delivering the highest customer experience.
  • Travel to the prospective customer's sites & locations as necessary
  • Knowledge of NetApp’s competitive landscape would be an added advantage.

Education

Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent experience.
