JOB DESCRIPTION 

Minimum qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in an investigative role, as a business analyst at a technology, financial services, or online commerce company.
     
  • Experience with SQL and querying, and analyzing datasets.

     

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with payments.
     
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills, with the ability to document in detail and summarize for an executive audience.
     
  • Excellent business judgment and problem-solving skills.

Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.

Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. In this role, you will work and interface with various parts of the banking/payments ecosystem, including networks, issuers, gateways, and financial technology to deliver the best solutions globally. You will enable safe and easy payments for Google users and to drive growth across all of our magnetizing products. You will be responsible for payments and commerce behind different Google products (e.g., Play, Ads, Cloud, YouTube, Hardware) operating in markets around the world.
 

Whether it is paying online with Autofill, using tap and pay in stores, or using the Google Pay app, the Payments team at Google is focused on making payments simple, seamless, and secure. In addition to consumer payment technologies, the Payments team also powers the money movement between Google and its consumers and businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product Manager/Engineering to drive business impact (e.g., business growth, cost reduction, improvements to user experience, mitigating risks).
  • Deliver data-driven product insights to shape product strategy, design, execution and optimization.
  • Design and run product experiments and other product optimizations to land product launches.
  • Create business cases and forecasts and measure the impact of new launches.
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and Objectives and Key Results (OKR) metrics updates to executive payments leadership and other internal and external stakeholders.
