Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Certification in CCIE, CCDE, or JNCIE. 10 years of experience in the Networking domain. Experience with enterprise network design and operations, and working in a multi-vendor environment. Preferred qualifications: Experience with Linux. Knowledge of the following technologies/protocols: 802.1X, MC-LAG, BGP, EVPN, MACSec, MPLS, SDWAN. As a Lead Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the wide area network infrastructure design and features to keep our systems running smoothly. You will partner closely with network operations and deployment to ensure the designs and solutions are safe, efficient and address our user's requirements. In this role, you will develop the next generation of enterprise metro and wide area networking that connects our various user and compute locations together. You will make continual improvements to ensure Google’s network infrastructure meets the needs of our users. Responsibilities Provide technical and thought leadership to improve the whole lifecycle of Google's Wide Area Enterprise Network from inception and design, to qualification and validation, through deployment, operation, and optimization. Multiply the effectiveness of the team through design reviews, technical mentoring, and career development support. Work with other teams to analyze requirements or potential problems and proactively develop solutions and policy recommendations. Manage and scale systems sustainably through tools and automation, and evolve systems by driving change that improves reliability and velocity. Lead development of Google’s Enterprise Network infrastructure through published engineering design documents and specifications. Lead the requirement analysis, engineering design, and solution development of Google’s Enterprise Network infrastructure.
