The QA Engineer works with members of the Experience Management (XM) Engineering organization and is responsible to help ensure the quality of products through test planning, test case creation, building and executing tests to validate new features, bugfixes, and perform pre-release regression testing. This individual will be working with developers to build quality enterprise web applications in a fast-paced, customer-centric, environment.

The QA Engineer works with members of the Experience Management (XM) Engineering organization

and is responsible to help ensure the quality of products through test planning, test case creation,

building and executing tests to validate new features, bugfixes, and perform pre-release regression

testing.

Specifically, the Quality Engineer will create test cases, maintain and execute tests for the Survey

Management web application. In addition, the Quality engineer will work with their Agile Scrum team

to perform general QA activities such as exploratory manual testing and overall test planning.

This individual will be working with developers to build quality enterprise web applications in a fast-

paced, customer centric, environment. Travel might happen only on rare occasions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Champion of Quality

  • Helps promote testing standards and processes. 
  • Maintain good quality approach and practices. 
  • Performs testing duties, including writing automation, as needed.

Technical Innovation

  • Work independently on complex projects having latitude for judgment on own experience and expertise. 
  • Assists with writing test automation, as needed. 
  • Make recommendations for the improvement of the testing process to increase productivity.

Team collaboration with clear communication

  • Provide effective communication with remote team members across different time zones. 
  • Collaborate with other team members on writing automation. 
  • Escalate urgent issues to management.

Process Adherence

  • Follow testing processes and standards 
  • Enforce writing automation as part of delivering a story

Planning

  • Understand the product roadmap and how work fits within it. 
  • Work with scrum team to develop use case scenarios to help build a quality product. 
  • Ensure the correct prioritization of scope (including issues). 
  • Understand the agile development process and contribute to improvements in it. 
  • Identify areas of operational and technical risk in product and options to de-risk.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

Essential 

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related technical engineering degree; 
  • 3+ years of QA experience in general; 
  • 2+ years of experience doing automated testing for modern SaaS web applications, 
  • Ability to understand and solve complex problems and concepts and make decisions based on given input; 
  • Strong time management, written and verbal communication, and analytical skills; 
  • Successful completion of Verint background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC, and SS verification; 
  • Successful completion of a credit check for travel related roles that will require the candidate to obtain the appropriate credit line required to travel.

Desirable 

  • Understands the Agile development framework with emphasis in the Scrum methodologies; 
  • 1+ year of experience working in a Scrum team; 
  • Experience testing single-page modern web applications built with tools such as React and Angular; 
  • Familiarity with BDD methodology and tools such as Cucumber 
  • Strong attention to detail; 
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills; 
  • Sense of teamwork and good interpersonal skills; 
  • Ability to work with multiple product teams; 
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills;

  • Experience with estimating testing effort, prioritizing tasks, and capable of handling both standard planned projects and ad hoc support issues is essential. 
  • Experience using defect tracking tools and quality/test management tool such as Jira is essential. 
  • Any relevant Software Engineering Certifications
