How You Will Contribute:

We’re looking for an experienced, talented team member who is passionate about delivering innovative products with their skills in embedded software for networking and routing devices. You will work with market-leading technologies in a virtualized, micro-services oriented, container-based system architecture. This is an exciting time to join Ciena, as we aggressively drive our product portfolio forward into the future of advanced networking services.

·       Join Platform Software team to develop platform dependent software and advanced technologies in Linux containers based distribution and state of the art networking technologies.

·       Contribute in software design, development, validation and documentation to deliver high quality, functionality excellent products.

·       Contribute to integration with enabling technologies including third party software, Networking SDKs and hardware capabilities.

·       Trouble shoot and fix reported issues; identify root cause, diagnose, debug and deliver robust timely fixes

The Must Haves:

·  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science or a related discipline.

·       8+ years of experience in middleware, infrastructure and platform dependent software
Prefers knowledge of industry-standard Carrier Ethernet technology.

·       Excellent C programming and troubleshooting skills.

·       Experience with product cycles and the deployment journey for carrier class products in Service Provider customer environments.

·       Contribute in software design, development, validation and documentation to deliver high quality, functionality excellent products.

·       Contribute to integration with enabling technologies including third party software, Networking SDKs and hardware capabilities.

·       Trouble shoot and fix reported issues; identify root cause, diagnose, debug and deliver robust timely fixes
