Position Overview
The Sourcing Manager will guide the development, communication, and implementation of complex procurement strategies that strengthen Hubbell's competitiveness while ensuring the availability and quality of the products we provide to our customers. Prioritize and maintain balance between cost of acquisition and cost of possession to improve return on investment including methodologies to improve working capital. Assist in the creation of a balanced workload across the Harsh and Heavy Industrial Brands.
Duties and Responsibilities
Drive optimized pooling activities for direct materials within the Harsh and Heavy Industrial business unit as well as larger Hubbell Electrical Systems segment by using alliances within procurement, improving competition and intensifying collaboration with suppliers • Lead/Support supplier sourcing, evaluation and selection, negotiation, performance monitoring, relationship management, and continuous improvement. • Responsible for reviewing operation documents and understanding business terms, service level metrics, fixed/variable cost changes and statements of work. • Provide advanced analytical support and appropriate data to assist Operations Leadership in developing their strategies and drive innovative thinking. • Support development of Requests for New Product Development (NPD) / Requests for Proposal (RFP), support analysis of RFP's & development of manufacturing location or supplier recommendations based upon RFP assessments. • Develop and maintaining strong global supplier relationships, including supplier site visits and relationships at all levels of their organization. • Track and report on supplier strategies, monitoring spend, business allocation, capability gap analysis and facilitate cross-functional review and evaluation. • Develop strategies for the mitigation of risk in the supply chain, overall and for specific new product programs.
Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree required (Supply Chain / Finance degree desirable). • 3-5 Years of Sourcing / Supply Chain Experience • Experience implementing Global Supply Chain initiatives & strategic planning in a matrix corporate environment • Demonstrated and proven ability to generate savings in a cross functional environment incorporating engineering, manufacturing, finance, product management or other resources and functions as needed • Strong analytical, business process analysis and problem solving capabilities. • Strong interpersonal skills & ability to engage and communicate with internal & external Customers. • High self-motivation and results-oriented work ethic. • Willingness to travel as needed (approx. 10 - 30%). • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly with Excel • SAP experience preferred. • CPSM or APICS certification is preferred.
