About Research Data Strats Internship
The Program is a 6-month program designed as an opportunity to learn more about the important role
that data and automation play within Morgan Stanley Research. This structured program is designed to
give you insight into this division and an opportunity to develop and master the analytical, technical, and
interpersonal skills needed to develop an exciting and rewarding career.
Your training will continue throughout the course of the program with structured learning sessions run by
senior executives. Similarly, you will have many opportunities to integrate with peers and senior colleagues
through a series of networking, social, and mentoring events.
Roles and Responsibilities
The Data Strats team is looking for highly capable Python coders who can develop, automate, and scale
data processes to support the creation of analyst models and differentiated research reports. The individual
will be responsible for building recurring data processes in Python (Pandas) and working to implement
technologies to improve analyst efficiency. This role is a blend of data analysis and data engineering.
Work with Research Analysts to develop, institute, and maintain automated data
processes.
Acquire, clean, maintain, and analyze data sets to support analyst models.
Work with technologists to enhance data infrastructure for ETL and automation.
Create scalable Python libraries for department-wide use.
Qualifications/Skills/Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or information technology,
engineering, or related fields.
Experience cleaning data using the Pandas and NumPy Python packages.
Experience with data quality and investigating data anomalies.
Experience with UNIX, Git, R, MATLAB, Q, SQL.
Good knowledge of financial markets.

Analytical, insightful, detail-oriented, and collaborative.
