Are you a skilled and visionary Data Engineer with a passion for shaping robust data environments and driving impactful data governance practices? Join our Community Pass team at Mastercard and play a pivotal role in defining, building, and optimizing data tools, technologies, and processes.

As the Lead Data Engineer, you will spearhead the creation of a reliable and efficient data ecosystem, enabling the delivery of exceptional Data & Analytics Services to both our customers and internal stakeholders.

Role: As the Lead Data Engineer for Community Pass, you will be the driving force behind the development and execution of cutting-edge data governance strategies and data environment frameworks.

Your expertise will ensure the effective utilization of data, enabling the delivery of dependable Data & Analytics Services. You will lead a team of data engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and establish data-related best practices in alignment with Mastercard standards.



Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Lead Data Engineer or similar role.
• Deep understanding of data governance principles and data lifecycle management.
• Proficiency in designing and implementing data tools, technologies, and processes.
• Expertise in data engineering, ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and data modeling.
• Strong command of data integration techniques and data quality management.
• Hands-on experience with data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, SQL, NoSQL databases, etc.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and services, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to provide innovative data solutions.
• Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of guiding and mentoring a team.

• Define and build comprehensive tools, technologies, and processes for data governance across raw, transformed, and enriched datasets.
• Create and maintain a robust data environment that adheres to Mastercard standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design effective data solutions.
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines.
• Implement data quality measures, ensuring accurate and reliable data for analytics and reporting.
• Utilize advanced data technologies to enable efficient data storage, processing, and analysis.
• Oversee the management and optimization of data warehouses and data lakes.
• Mentor and guide a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging data technologies to drive innovation.
• Provide technical expertise and leadership in data-related discussions and decisions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver impactful data solutions.

Role - You’ll be responsible for the installation, administration, and lifecycle management of RHE Linux servers, focusing especially on platforms for Big Data solutions such as Hadoop. - You take part in on-call as part of our ‘you build it, you run it’ philosophy. This includes improving operations, such as by adding metrics or building dashboards. - Improve our incident management lifecycle to identify, mitigate, and learn from reliability risks. - Develop strong partnerships with product teams to understand and proactively address future technology needs and current developer pain points. - As part of the Platform team, you own, monitor, and maintain our development teams' backend services and infrastructure. - Incident response, diagnosis, and follow-up on system outages or alerts across the infrastructure - Increase developer productivity by building innovative tools that reduce maintenance overhead.
