Position: Advanced Systems Engineer
Experience : 10+ years
Travel: 50-60% Global
Job Description: (Safety System or PLC experience is MUST) (SIS / FGS / ESD / IPS Engineer)
1. Assist Lead Engineer (LE)/ Engineering Manager (EM) with development of project designs (FDS/ DDS)
2. Work with Lead Engineer (LE) to understand and apply engineering designs/technical specifications during project execution.
3. Background on functional safety
4. Background of SIS design and engineering
5. Understand Safety lifecycle Plan
6. Should have basic knowledge of Safety concepts like Voting, MOS, OOS, plant shut down hierarchy.
7. Should be able to write BMS sequence logic based on control narrative.
8. Should be able to identify gap in customer inputs and raise appropriate queries
9. Knowledge on FGS zone concepts
10. Knowledge of IEC61508 / 611511 industry standard
11. Should be able to finalize BOM (Bill of Material)
12. Prepare IO database and develop I/O Assignment
13. Should have knowledge of Hardware Engineering activities like Cabinet design, Power and Heat load calculation, wiring database generation.
14. Shall have knowledge on Instrumentation standards, P&ID’s
15. Develop applications based on customer inputs such as C&E, Process Narratives/ descriptions, logic diagrams.
16. Conduct FAT and commissioning for Safety system independently
17. Assist LE/ EM to ensure that the engineered solution meets project requirements in terms of functionality, standards, quality, and supporting documentation and implementation process at minimum cost by allocating work assignments to project team
18. Shares technical knowledge with project team, supervisor, own discipline and other engineering disciplines
19. Reports progress and technical problems to Lead engineer/ Engineering Manager
20. Works independently & is fully proficient in applying established standards, complying with quality / safety processes and procedures. Guides engineers on day to day technical matters.
21. Assist LE/ EM to ensure that projects are executed within agreed schedule and budget to meet the customer requirements
22. Identify possible improvement opportunities and manage their implementation
23. Ensures that the final deliverable meets the functional specifications of the customer / end user by doing thorough quality checks
24. Possesses good verbal and written English communication skills. Articulates & communicates technical issues effectively with LE/ EM/ customers and seeks effective closure.
Platforms & Domain Experience
Domain Knowledge – Oil &Gas, Chemical/ Petrochemical or any other process automation
Experience on Safety system projects is preferred. Experience on PLC based projects can also be considered
Experience on Honeywell Safety Systems FSC and Safety Manager will be added advantage
TUV Functional Safety engineer certification will be an added advantage
