Akamai's Cloud Technology Group's Compute division, formerly Linode, consists of collaborative, inclusive, and creative teams. We develop applications and services to empower our customers. Our mission is to accelerate innovation by making cloud computing simple, scalable, affordable, and accessible to all. We design, develop, test and maintain products that run on our IaaS platform.

Shape the future of our Kubernetes and Cloud Native products

You will ensure the quality and scalability of our Cloud Native products. This involves driving the design and development of automated testing frameworks, processes, and tools. You will play a critical role in the customer experience by upholding the quality of the Linode Kubernetes Engine (LKE), the Kubernetes Product Platform (KPP), and Akamai Cloud Functions (Serverless) products.

As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test II, you will be responsible for:

• Being a major contributor in developing the test frameworks and CI/CT/CD pipelines
• Contributing towards building the roadmap for a stable and scalable cloud-native product offering
• Validating and testing cloud-native technologies and architectures
• Developing best practices, knowledge sharing, and mentoring
• Collaborating with engineering teams in an Agile environment
• Working in an environment that fosters innovative solutions, rapid development cycles, and open communication

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 7+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Have experience testing cloud-native technologies, using Kubernetes deployments, and working on enterprise-grade products
• Have experience leveraging CI/CD tools such as Github Actions to achieve good software development practices
• Be familiar with using GitOps deployment tools such as argoCD or Flux
• Have experience with pytest or other test automation frameworks and comfortability leveraging Python or Bash for scripting
• Have understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, HTTP) and knowledge of Linux-based operating systems
