Team Lead/Lead Engineer-Hardware Design

Responsibilities:

  • Project Engineering management 
    • Coordination with Business unit Stakeholders (Elyria, OH and Rockford CH) & EICP team to get the work done. 
    • Perform New Product Development engineering activities from EICP.
    • Able to lead the team of Hardware Engineers 

 

  • Technical
    • Interact with product management & development teams to develop requirements for Electrical / Electronics Design. 
    • Identify and convert the product specifications into hardware requirements.
    • Create electrical and electronics designs for new products using state-of-the-art technology.
    • Prepare High level and detailed design document, schematic, Bill of Material, Test plan, Test Report for hardware.
    • Design circuit layouts and build PCBA prototypes for proof-of-concept models that meet technical specifications and cost targets.
    • Perform cost analysis and cost estimates of proposed PCBAs.
    • Conduct concept or feasibility studies of new ideas on Motor Control Hardware, Firmware development and other electronics applications. Determine technical principles, assess technology matches, and establish basic design criteria to deliver electronic hardware solutions for new and existing tools.
    • Work with battery manufacturers to define specifications for batteries and chargers. Develop battery test procedures and test fixtures and conduct qualification testing.
    • Develop test plans for electronic circuitry, and perform qualification testing including functional testing, life testing, and stress testing, EMI, EMC, and IEC testing.
    • Drive projects to timely completion by close collaboration with other functional team members
    • Provide back up support for other project for technical and other activities such as testing,   
    • Prepare & present engineering documentations required for design reviews. 
    • Conduct reviews for the part design from manufacturing, assembly, function point of view.
    • Conduct reviews such as DFMEA, PCB Layouts, Schematic Reviews.
    • Creating the Manufacturing Electrical drawings as per the business specified standards.

 

  • Project management 
    • Adherence to organization project management processes 
    • Delivering the project as per schedule with defined Quality
    • Leading hardware and firmware engineers to define and achieve project milestones.

 

Qualification:

  • Qualification: B.E/ M.E. in –Electronics/Power Electronics 
    • Good understanding of communication protocols (I2C, SPI, BLE)

 

Experience & Skill Sets Requirements:

  • Relevant work experience of around 8-10 years in embedded hardware development
  • Must have excellent Electronics Hardware Design skills which includes
    • Power Supply Design
    • Design of BLDC Motor Drive will be added advantage 
    • Li-ion Battery charger  design (Low to mid power range)
    • Mixed signal Design 
    • Analog signal Conditioning 
    • Micro controller based design
  • Good knowledge of PCB layout rules and technique
  • Good knowledge of EMI EMC and mitigation techniques.
  • Good knowledge of
    • Embedded C programming skills 
    • Knowledge of low level driver development (Timer UART ADC)
  • Must be flexible, independent and self-motivated. 
  • Result orientation and focus on details.
