Key job responsibilities
Gain an in-depth understanding of the Order-to-Cash cycle
Enable and co-own key business and operational outcomes, such as collections metrics, efficiency, customer experience
Deeply understand the business model, business plan, processes and metrics of the business ares in scope
Establish and execute on, with rigour, analytics roadmaps for the areas in scope
Translate business problems into metrics problems into data problems - and build insights accordingly
Offer data analytics and finance insight towards achieving business outcomes
Design metrics and measurements that adequately measure process and business performance
Define business/technical requirements and drive their implementation by the data engineering team
Design an optimal blend of descriptive, prescriptive and predictive reporting; - Build high-impact dashboards for visualization; note that this is a hands-on role!
Automate and continuously improve recurring reports – e.g. monthly business review documents – for the global leadership team
Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis in response to leadership requests
Analyze data to identify patterns, root cause, and business opportunities
Support leadership in planning and forecasting activities
Along all the above, engage in active dialogue with business partners, IT teams and global AR leaders

A day in the life
The senior business analyst will allocate most of their effort to active dialogue with a global team of internal customers about business problems and requirements; hands-on analytics development (i.e. building sophisticated Tableau dashboards and the underlying high-performing scripts); productive interaction with and guidance to data engineers; and roadmap management. The role will also own global leadership interaction - e.g. monthly business reviews - addressing the analytics activities, as well as metrics statuses, of their in-scope businesses.

Global Accounts Receivable is in charge of all AR processes across Amazon's businesses and geographies. Global AR, Data Analytics (GARDA) supports all decisions in AR. GARDA’s mission is to drive a world class Order-to-Cash cycle by providing timely data, insights and predictions to our leadership and operations teams. In close cooperation with our stakeholders, we agree and build uniform metrics; use data from a ‘single source of truth’; provide automated, self-service, standard reporting; and build predictive analytics. Our goal is to actively contribute to the improvement of Amazon's Free Cash Flow, Customer Experience and process efficiency by value-adding analytics.

- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 3+ years of writing SQL queries and creating business intelligence reports using Tableau, Power BI experience
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
- Experience with Excel
