The Amazon Device OS team is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test to help automate next generation automation tools. In this role you will work with architects, QA engineers, software developers and hardware engineers to enhance/implement test automation and infrastructure development for our next generation of Alexa device which will have a significant impact on our systems, our business and our customers.

Key job responsibilities
The successful candidate will be obsessed with quality improvement and automating tests for regression and new features. Responsibilities include understanding customer use cases, diving deep into the software development, and developing automation approaches to measure confidence in the product. You will work directly with product development teams and peer QA teams to iteratively improve our automation framework.

In this role, you will:
* Develop Automation test harness and automate tests using internal and open source tools & infrastructure
* Demonstrate continuous search for better and more efficient test solutions, and an instinct for continuous invention and innovation.
* Have the opportunity to propose improvements to our automation/infrastructure and automated tools in order to improve the team’s speed, quality, reliablity and efficiency.
* Be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. You will need to be able to work efficiently and effectively in a fun, fast-paced dynamic team environment

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 4+ years of test automation frameworks and tools building experience
- 4+ years of non-internship professional software development testing experience
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
- Experience designing or supporting low-maintenance automation frameworks

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Knowledge of overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance in a database environment
- Experience debugging, diagnosing, and troubleshooting complex, production software issues
