Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Software Plugin Developer you will be responsible owning designing and developing components and features independently in IBM India Systems Development Lab. ISDL works on end to end design and development across Power, z and Storage portfolio. You would be a part of WW Storage development organization and would be involved in designing , developing and discussing product delivery & strategy. You should also have strong leadership quality to manage and work as technical leads and be able to deliver end to end features.

• Design & Develop IBM FlashSystem (IBM Spectrum Virtualize) CINDER Plugin.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain CINDER plugins for storage systems integration
• Design and be an avid coder who can get his hands dirty and be involved in the coding to the deepest level.
• Collaboration with Product management and peer architect on roadmap planning and POCs.
• Setting technical direction for development team.
• Work in an Agile environment of continuous deliverable.
• You’ll have access to all the technical training courses you need to become the expert you want to be.
• You’ll learn directly from Sr members/leaders in this field.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 4 to 8 years of industry experience in Storage plugin development for Storage CINDER Plugins.
• Python Programming, scripting and build tools in a Linux development environment.
• Sound knowledge of Openstack CINDER, REST APIs and JSON
• Experience with OpenStack Cinder API
• Proven experience of S/W development process & tools for product development/debugging
• Proven knowledge of working in Client-Server architecture.
• Software development experience with Tomcat and Nginix
• Product development/usage experience on Linux operating systems
• Experience working with authentication mechanisms (certificate based/user based)
• Good problem-solving skills for complex issues with interdependencies across multiple modules
• Ability to crisply communicate with stake holders (clients and level 3 support teams) for resolving field issues.
• Knowledge and hand-on usage of code and defect management tools.
• Ability to meticulously plan and detail test executions and identifying dependencies.
• Good written/verbal communication skills to report program status crisply and accurately.
• Experience working with Global teams.
• Good technical leadership skills to mentor new team members.

• Domain Knowledge on storage system management.
