The Opportunity Adobe Design, our 500+ person global experience design group, is looking for an Experience Design Manager to lead our Adobe Connect team, part of the growing DALP(Digital Advertising, Learning and Publishing) business. We work on market leading products in the spaces of digital learning, highly interactive webinars, advertising, sophisticated multi-format documentation and more. Adobe Connect has been a powerful product that has been much loved by users over the years and currently, as we explore to redefine what webinars and digital learning can be for modern users, we're looking for you to come shape the foundational aspects of this renewed Adobe Connect. What you’ll do Be a hands-on design manager, growing and mentoring a small, focussed team, while leading design craft by example. Have significant ownership. You will make important decisions about product vision, roadmap, and how it works, looks, feels, and behaves. Guide the vision and execution of your team over the long and short term to drive impact through design. Build a growth-oriented, collaborative environment and encourage deep partnership with cross-functional teams, setting a high bar for design craft, and conceiving, defining and executing design strategy for the product. Work with other managers and directors to drive the design strategy, improve processes, and align team objectives with pivotal initiatives. Deeply engage with business, product management and engineering teams for consistent impact. Coach and mentor designers. You will attract design talent to the team, hire, grow, retain and promote designers. Champion a culture of research and validation to inform design direction. Lead all aspects of design execution across releases. Create user experience goals, priorities and deliverables that align with product milestones, coordinate multiple projects to completion, and drive adoption of user experience practices ensuring timely, detailed, and impactful deliverables. Represent the team and the team’s work across senior leadership levels at Adobe What you need to succeed Lead empathetically, fostering an inclusive and empowering environment for the design team to do innovative and impactful work. A degree in a design-related field (HCI, interaction, visual), or comparable work experience. 10+ years of industry experience in experience design with a consistent record of delivering great design and strategy that meets user needs, product requirements & business objectives. 2+ years of people management and UX leadership experience. Strong operational skills with the ability to drive initiatives and consensus across organizations with varying priorities. A history of facilitating close collaboration between design, product development, engineering and business. Experience working with and integrating research and experimentation into the design process. A curiosity for how business, social, technical and behavioral factors impact the UX across the user journey inside and outside the product UX. A passion to have an influential role with the product team as a driver for design process and product strategy, communicating design ideas persuasively and concisely to all functions of the organization, including executives.
