Role Description

We are currently looking for an experienced Electrical Safety Specialist to join a technically advanced engineering environment within industrial machinery and automated equipment.

In this role, you will act as a technical authority for electrical safety across complex automated systems, robotic cells, and industrial machinery. You will work across the full product lifecycle – from early development and design to certification and market release – ensuring that electrical risks are properly identified, mitigated, and documented according to international safety standards.

You will collaborate closely with engineering, R&D, production, and quality teams to ensure that electrical systems meet global compliance and machine safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and review electrical safety risk assessments for industrial machinery and robotic systems

  • Ensure compliance with international electrical safety standards such as IEC / EN 60204-1, ISO 10218, NFPA 79, UL standards, and EU Machinery Regulation

  • Review electrical schematics, control architectures, and system designs from a machine safety perspective

  • Advise engineering teams on grounding, protective devices, electrical isolation, emergency stop circuits, and arc flash risks

  • Support safety audits, certification activities, and interactions with external regulatory bodies such as UL and TÜV

  • Work closely with R&D, production, HSE, and quality teams to ensure safety requirements are implemented throughout the development lifecycle

Required Profile

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a similar technical discipline

  • Solid experience working with electrical systems in industrial machinery, robotics, or automated equipment

  • Strong knowledge of IEC, EN, UL, and NFPA electrical safety standards

  • Experience interpreting machine safety standards and translating them into practical engineering requirements

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with machine safety and certification processes

  • Knowledge of arc flash risk assessments

  • Experience working in global product development environments
